Send and Receive Money with Zelle®

Zelle® is a fast and easy way to send and receive money with friends, family and other people you trust.

Product Upgrade Announcement: We’ve made some great changes to how you send money to family and friends. Beginning April 1, 2025, Zelle® app will no longer be available, and you’ll have access to Zelle® through eBank or Busey-Mobile app.

That’s exciting because with Zelle® you can quickly send money to people you know and trust — no matter where they bank in the U.S., and the money is usually available in minutes¹.

Look for communications from us with more information on how you can enroll and start sending and receiving money with Zelle®. As a reminder, Busey will never call, text, or email you and ask for your passcode, account number or SSN. If you have questions or need assistance, call us directly at 800.672.8739.

When you enroll with Zelle® through the Busey app, your name, the name of your bank/credit union, and the email address or U.S. mobile number you enrolled is shared with Zelle® (no sensitive account details are shared – those stay with Busey). When someone sends money to your enrolled email address or U.S. mobile number, Zelle® looks up the email address or mobile number in its “directory” and notifies Busey of the incoming payment. Busey then directs the payment into your Busey account, all while keeping your sensitive account details private.
Keeping your money and information safe is a top priority for Busey. When you use Zelle® within our mobile app or online banking, your information is protected with the same technology we use to keep your Busey account safe.
Zelle® is a great way to send money to friends, family and people you are familiar with such as your personal trainer, babysitter or neighbor¹.

Since money is sent directly from your Busey account to another person’s bank account within minutes¹, Zelle® should only be used to send money to people you trust.

If you don’t know the person or aren’t sure you will get what you paid for (for example, items bought from an online bidding or sales site), you should not use Zelle®. These transactions are potentially high risk (just like sending cash to a person you don’t know is high risk).

Neither Busey Bank nor Zelle® offers purchase protection for payments made with Zelle® - for example, if you do not receive the item you paid for, or the item is not as described or as you expected.
