Volunteer Spotlight Featuring Wendy LaMont

June 2024 BUSEY'S VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH

Wendy LaMont

Living the Busey promise in her community, Wendy LaMont, Administrative Assistant III – WM Ag Services, is being recognized as Busey’s Volunteer of the Month.

Wendy’s outstanding contributions to the Edge Youth Group through LeRoy United Methodist Church was apparent during a recent mission trip to Memphis, Tennessee. Wendy and the Youth Group partnered with Alcy Ball Development Corporation and led projects that include home renovations and community clean-up efforts. Her hands-on involvement in tasks like tearing off siding and renovating a church sanctuary exemplified her dedication to making a difference. Wendy’s daughters who are active members of the youth group also participated in the mission trip, discovering their own passion for volunteerism alongside their parents.

Beyond working actively on projects during the mission trip, Wendy was also able to spend time mentoring youth through Street Reach, who provided vacation bible school classes for children in nine different areas of their neighborhood. Wendy engaged children through games, crafts, and Bible stories. Witnessing her daughters develop a love for volunteering added another layer of fulfillment for Wendy, highlighting the profound impact of family involvement in fostering a culture of service within the community. Thank you, Wendy, for being a catalyst for positive change!

Congratulations, Wendy!
