Fraudsters will use this disaster to take advantage of those most vulnerable. Here are some tips to keep your personal and financial information safe:

  • Do not divulge your bank or credit card numbers or other personal information over the phone unless you initiated the conversation with the other party and you know that it’s reputable.
  • Be on guard against imposters who contact you claiming to be government employees or volunteers and who ask for personal financial information or money.
  • Watch out for fraudulent texts and calls from people falsely claiming to represent government agencies. Ensure your information is coming from the right source by directly visiting the accurate website, and calling official phone numbers. Do not click on links in text messages or emails.
    • Visit https://www.disasterassistance.gov/ to learn more about federal assistance for survivors of natural disasters. You also can call the Federal Emergency Management Agency at 1.800.621.FEMA (1.800.621.3362).
  • Reject offers to cash a check for someone else. It may turn out that the check is fraudulent.
  • Be careful before accepting unsolicited offers of repairs or other assistance.

Busey will be waiving and/or refunding the following fees from October 8, 2024 through October 22, 2024:

  • Debit Card Replacement Fees
  • ATM Foreign Transaction Fees (charged for out-of-network ATM use)
  • Incoming and Outgoing Wire Transfer Fees (excludes Bottomline transactions)
  • Late Fees on Busey Mortgage, Busey Retail Loan and Busey Commercial Loan Payments
Credit bureau reporting for any past due mortgage/retail loan payments will be assigned a Natural Disaster code.
