Fraud Impersonation Notice
We’ve received reports of an increase in recent impersonation fraud attempts, meaning scammers are falsely claiming to be Busey associates. These impersonators may create a false sense of urgency by telling you fraud has been identified, that your personal information is needed to verify your account, or that account details are needed to process a transaction (like a wire transfer). Busey associates will not contact you to request this information. It can be difficult to recognize impersonation scams, so remember:
- Do not share your account credentials, password or PIN, or give anyone access to your phone, tablet or laptop. Busey associates will not contact you to request this information.
- Do not respond, click/open any links or download/open any attachments from someone claiming to be with Busey — especially if you did not initiate the request with Busey.
- If you receive any suspicious or unexpected calls, texts, emails or letters claiming to be related to your Busey accounts, do not respond or provide any personal or business information. Instead, contact us immediately to verify the communication. You can message us through eBank, chat with us at busey.com, call Busey's Customer Care team at 800.67.BUSEY or visit your local banking center.
