Thorpe and Combs Named to Forty Under 40 Lists

Our associates are true examples of what makes Busey an organization unlike any other. We’re proud to announce two of our associates have been named among the Forty Under 40 honorees by Central Illinois Business magazine.

Please join us in congratulating Jeremy Thorpe and Alyssa Combs on these deserved recognitions. In addition, we’re thrilled to share Jeremy has been named as the Forty Under 40 Man of the Year!

Associates were nominated by their peers and/or community and selected by a panel of judges based on achievements, leadership ability, expertise in their field and community involvement.

Jeremy Thorpe | Officer – Charitable Relations Specialist II
Jeremy has been a leader in developing Busey’s positive, community-focused identity throughout our footprint. In his role, Jeremy supports the strategic charitable goals and metrics of the organization by managing the initiatives, resources and tools needed to support community partnerships and volunteerism efforts for Busey’s associate base. He has been a major contributor in driving record engagement internally—which ultimately empowers our organization to positively impact more lives by providing financial, human and social capital wherever it’s needed most in the communities we serve. Additionally, Jeremy lives the Busey Promise by taking every opportunity to give back to our communities as a volunteer with various local organizations. His unique contributions not only support the growth of our organization, but also the development of the individuals, families and communities we serve.

Alyssa Combs | Senior Vice President – Internal Audit Manager
Alyssa has selflessly devoted herself to helping scale the audit department to keep up with the increased size and complexity of the bank since she joined Busey in 2013. In her multidimensional role, Alyssa is responsible for determining, by continuous review, that internal controls are adequate and practiced, financial statements are sound, company policies and procedures are followed, risks are communicated and accepted, and Busey is compliant with regulations. She volunteers with various local organizations and is also a Pillar Donor—an associate who elects to pledge at least $500 through either a one-time donation or a recurring paycheck deduction as part of Busey’s United Way Corporate Workplace Campaign. Her remarkable warmth, professionalism, meticulous attention to detail and unwavering dedication to her role make her an invaluable asset to Busey.

Congratulations and thank you for your commitment to Team Busey and the places we call home!
